This book is astounding! If you really want the low-down on salt, then this is the book for you. It does provide some recipes, but much of the content is about how you can reduce salt more generally. Of particular note for those of you missing flavour are the many tips for improving taste by using herbs and spices. There are recipe books with pretty pictures available, and this is not one of those. But it does provide so much more information about the effects of salt on the human body, and will help you to understand why refined salt is so unhealthy. It even helps inform you of unexpected sources of salt - including postage stamps! The major downside of this book is that it is a US publication meaning that many of the brands of healthy alternatives are not applicable to the UK.
